Spring is Here

Had a great time in St. Paul yesterday at the Happy Gnome's 3rd annual Firkin Fest. What's a Firkin? It's a cask conditioned ale that has fresh yeast added to it in the secondary fermentation stage usually dry hopped with a little something special. Firkins are a great way for the breweries and brewers to try new things and show off some of their favorite recipes. I give first prize to Great Divide's Oak Aged Yeti, just yum.

Heading back to Minneapolis to see Manchester Orchestra this evening, wishing I was at 7th Street for Tapes 'N Tapes, glad I'm not at Roy Wilkins for Alice in Chains. Here's last week's playlist. I've also got a link to a kick-ass Drive-By Truckers show from 2002 at Pine Hill Farm courtesy of Be sure to check out their great SXSW coverage.
